The CRM Says “Qualified,” but Did the Advertising Platform Receive It?

November 06, 2026•2 min read

A salesperson marking a lead qualified does not prove that the advertising platform received the outcome. The connection can reject a row, send it late or lose the link to the original inquiry. Check delivery as a separate step.

Build a small outcome delivery ledger

For each eligible event, keep the CRM reference, event type, actual event time, destination conversion action, submission time and returned processing result. Store only the customer data needed under your approved process and platform requirements.

  • Status: Ready; Meaning: The CRM outcome has the required evidence and fields; Next action: Submit through the supported integration

  • Status: Submitted; Meaning: A delivery attempt occurred; Next action: Check the result

  • Status: Accepted or processed; Meaning: The platform reports the applicable processing state; Next action: Reconcile with reporting as appropriate

  • Status: Rejected; Meaning: A specific error prevents processing; Next action: Assign a correction owner

  • Status: Uncertain; Meaning: The result cannot be confirmed; Next action: Investigate before replaying

Inspect row results, not just the connection badge

Google’s offline data diagnostics can show import history and row errors. A connection marked active does not establish that every event in a batch was accepted.

Review patterns such as an incorrect conversion name, invalid timestamp, missing required data or duplicate submission. Use the exact platform error and current documentation. Do not “fix” a historical time by inventing a more convenient conversion date.

Keep business truth separate from delivery status

A real qualified lead remains qualified even if an import fails. Repair the delivery process without changing the CRM outcome just to make the advertising screen look consistent. Likewise, an uploaded event does not create evidence that the underlying qualification was correct.

Assign an owner and a review window to failed events. An invisible pile of errors can make the platform’s feedback increasingly incomplete while the business believes optimization is using all outcomes.

Replay carefully

Check whether the platform received an earlier attempt before resubmitting an uncertain event. Use its supported identifiers and duplicate handling. Replaying an entire batch because one row failed can create avoidable errors.

Google distinguishes upload errors from reporting discrepancies after upload. A processed event may still not appear exactly where someone expects in a campaign report. Investigate the relevant category before making another delivery attempt.

Report the completeness of the feedback loop

Show eligible events, successful deliveries, rejected events and unresolved results for the same period. Include how long the unresolved cases have waited. This gives the owner a measure of whether campaign feedback is dependable.
