How to Market Mobile Detailing Packages That Fit Your Route

November 05, 2026•2 min read

Two full details booked ten streets apart can make a good day. Put those same appointments on opposite sides of a congested metro area and the second one can turn unprofitable before you unload a hose. A bigger service radius is an expensive way to fill a mobile detailer’s calendar.

Build the offer around a real route

Sketch the last five working days. Mark each service location, drive time, setup time and package sold. Circle neighborhoods where a second visit could reasonably follow the first. Look at the days and hours that worked. Apartment parking rules, gated entries and access to water or power can change whether the next appointment actually fits.

Create a route offer your crew can honor, such as interior details in a named area on Thursday mornings. Spell out any customer-provided access or supplies your setup requires. Show a weather or rescheduling policy before the customer pays a deposit. Give people outside the current route a way to request a future date without presenting an unavailable appointment as booked.

Compare earnings across the whole shift

In a simple worksheet, deduct the day’s advertising and direct job costs from collected revenue, then divide by hours spent driving, setting up and detailing. Use the same definition each week. A full calendar of single vehicles scattered across town may bring in less per working hour than fewer jobs grouped closely together.

Ask your marketing team to test one route and one package first. Keep city names consistent with the places you actually serve. On Google, service-area businesses can describe coverage using cities or postal areas. See Google’s service area guidance.

For the next step, see how to match advertising to the neighborhoods your crew can actually cover.
