HVAC Leads Want Repairs but You Need Replacement Estimates. What Should You Change?
A homeowner typing “AC stopped cooling” may need somebody today. Another typing “replace upstairs AC unit” may be comparing options for next month. If your ads send both to a page promising fast AC help, your dispatcher inherits the job of sorting them out.
Make two clear invitations
For repair, state when dispatch answers and what area it covers. For replacement, explain the estimate visit: what the technician will look at, which decision makers should attend if relevant, and how the homeowner receives the estimate. Include alternatives for someone still deciding, such as asking whether your team can assess repair versus replacement during a paid diagnostic visit.
Take a real ad and follow its link on your phone. If the headline promises installation but the booking menu begins with an emergency repair slot, change the destination. On the replacement form, an optional field for “Planning ahead” or “Current equipment has failed” helps the office respond appropriately without asking the homeowner to diagnose the equipment.
Read the dispatch outcomes
Take a recent sample of paid inquiries and mark the requested service, the visit scheduled and whether an estimate was delivered. A repair that leads to replacement after inspection is real downstream business; record the original intent as repair so the replacement campaign does not get credit for generating that estimate.
When replacement inquiries are scarce, change the advertising offer or the search audience. When inquiries are plentiful but estimates never occur, ask the installation manager which details or appointment times buyers needed. Those findings point to very different uses for the next advertising dollar.
For the next step, see how to check whether searches are bringing repairs or replacement inquiries.
