Which Branch Deserves More Ad Budget When Customers Book at a Different Location?
A company runs ads for its north and south locations. North generates the call, but the central scheduler gives the customer an earlier appointment at south. A report organized only by booked location makes south look like the source of demand. A report organized only by ad location hides where the work was performed.
Keep two location fields
Record the location promoted in the original inquiry and the location where the appointment was completed. Add a short reason when they differ, such as customer preference, service availability or a shorter wait. Preserve the original source when someone moves an appointment. Replacing the first location with the last destroys the evidence you need.
Consider an illustrative week in which north ads yield six completed appointments at north and four at south. Count ten appointments generated by north ads and four of those fulfilled at south. The company still received ten completed appointments, not fourteen. If separate budgets support local managers, agree on who owns acquisition costs before comparing branches.
Decide what kind of problem you have
If one location attracts suitable customers but sends most away for lack of appointments, review capacity before cutting its campaign. If transfers happen because the ad named the wrong services for the branch, fix the offer. If customers choose the other location without prompting, ask what the location page leaves unclear.
Compare contribution and fulfillment costs where your records support it. A lower cost per booking in one branch can look less attractive once cancellations or long transfers are visible. Give your marketing partner this two-location view before authorizing a budget shift.
For the next step, see how to work out what a suitable inquiry is worth before moving budget.
